knew it was time to take my own
label to the public.
What do you like most about
your job?
The thing I like the most about
designing is that I can open any
catalog or fashion magazine
and re-create whatever I see. I
can bring people’s dreams of the
perfect outfit to life. I think that’s
the one thing I like the most . .

newspapers and done a couple of
articles on “Fashion How-To”. Writing is a great escape for me. Very
meditative and cathartic.
School gives great fundamentals.
What would you say to other natives who would like to be designers?
Interning can give you great insight
into the business. Mentoring with a
designer or design house can spring
board a lot of careers. Having a love
for fashion is a guarantee of success.
Be prepared to work hard!
I say, GO FOR IT! It’s a great medium and there’s something about
producing garments that gives you
a sense of independence. Design
school is a great way to start. Also,
a mentoring program is good.

what I’m feeling at the time or
what is going on in the world.
My nieces and nephews inspire
me. They let me know what they
like and don’t like. If I design
something they would wear then
I know it’s a winner.
What do you see for your future
in designing?
Of course, just like every designer in the Fashion Industry, I
hope to show at New York Fashion Week. I do believe that’s a
possibility because a former
classmate showed at New York
Fashion Week a couple of years
ago and she used to bow to my
talents as a designer. I know it’s
a strong possibility.
