Aha!
Moment
For example, I was making my bed in the morning one day with my TV on, while in the background it was playing a film trailer. I was listening normally to the TV, but when I turned myself to see what the film was all about I discovered that the whole time I was listening to it in English.
These things happened because our minds were in the automatic mode. We did not have time to switch the English/Portuguese button and ended up experiencing these ‘Aha! Moments’. That experience is the funniest part about learning English, and if you have not had one yet, do not worry. It will happen to you any time, that is, if you continue studying.
Your subconscious knows English better than you. Yes, you understood me right: almost every person that starts learning English have the same problem. They all have this button in their minds that they switch to speak English and switch back to speak Portuguese. They are never both on at the same time. An ‘Aha! Moment’ is like being free from that button, for they (Aha! Moments) happen when you do not take notice whether you are speaking Portuguese or English, you just speak.
With my friend Valeria it happened quite the same way as with me. She went to the cinema, bought the tickets and started to watch the movie, but she was so tired that day, that she only noticed that it was in English a few minutes later.
