Mission Statement

A Message from City Manager Tamara Letourneau

Hello , Laguna Niguel !
I am excited to welcome you to the fall season in our wonderful community . As we transition from the long , warm days of summer to the shorter , crisp and colorful autumn days , I hope you continue to take time to get involved and to make memories with your family , friends and neighbors .
During the upcoming Fall season , there are two significant outreach efforts that I invite you to participate in . These initiatives will provide you with valuable opportunities to actively shape the future of our beloved city .
The first initiative is the City ’ s Adopted Strategic Plan 5-Year Update . With the adoption of the City ’ s first-ever Strategic Plan in 2019 , it is time to evaluate our progress , identify areas of strength , address weaknesses , and explore new opportunities . To accomplish this , we will be reaching out with a community-wide strategic plan survey . We aim to engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders , ensuring that every voice is heard . The survey will be available digitally through our social media platforms and City website , and we will also be mailing hard copies to all residential and commercial addresses in Laguna Niguel . Additionally , residents will have the opportunity to provide their input in-person at City facilities and at community events . Together , we can gather vital data and insights to help shape our future path .
The second initiative is Phase 2 of the City ’ s General Plan Update . A City ’ s General Plan is its blueprint for the future , and through appropriate goals , policies , and programs , it serves as a decisionmaking tool to guide future growth and development . Because we believe that the collective voice of our residents is instrumental in shaping the direction and priorities of Laguna Niguel , we want to ensure widespread involvement . Over the course of two years , the City will engage with stakeholders , community members , decisionmakers , and city staff to foster collaboration and gather diverse perspectives . I invite you to attend our upcoming community forums and workshops , where you will be able to share your ideas for the future of Laguna Niguel . A community-wide survey will also be launched as an integral component to collect feedback . Your input will be vital in creating a comprehensive General Plan that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our community .
These outreach efforts are a testament to our commitment to transparent governance and community-driven decision-making . I encourage each and every one of you to lend your voice , contribute your ideas , and actively participate in these important initiatives . Thank you for your dedication to our city . Together , we will build a bright and prosperous future for Laguna Niguel .
