Try to March creative arts company CRASS ROUTES brought ‘OUT THE BAG’ project to the community in Liverpool. ‘Out the Bag’ was a mobile project that brought a number of community support organisations and their service users together to grow in recovery and engage creatively. The art project was delivered by Crass Routes company and their peer mentors for anyone with needs around mental-emotional health, homelessness and addiction.

'We were really glad

that Genie In The Gutter

could have been involved'

Throughout visits in services around Liverpool the group engaged in this phenomenal live art action where an oversized ‘sleeping bag’ was sewn together – the ‘sleeping bag’ represented our losses, past pain, but also hope, blessings and love for the future. Facilitators Marko Muller and Netti Porter from Crass Routes opened a creative platform for everyone involved to share their experiences and dreams through this innovative project and by bringing the community together.

We were really glad that Genie In The Gutter could have been involved in this project which had such an amazing feedback and participation that it still continues! The ‘sleeping bag’ collected stories, wishes, emotions, hopes and dreams creating a cross cultural testimony of lives in Liverpool.
