Recovering Together July, 2013 | Page 4

Somewhere in the wilderness

On a place called Earth,

A beautiful angel cries

She is struggling, she is hurt

As she stares at her reflection

And all she sees is hate,

A monster glares back at her

So she regrets what she ate

Her skin turns into ice

Her teeth chatter in fear

She is strangled by ropes

Ropes that used to be her blonde hair

Her bones so weak

Stick out of her skin in defense

She says she will win

If you just give her one last chance

Her lips are torn

And covered in blood

As it slowly drips

Creating a flood

Faye, 17

She hesitantly sticks her toes

into the flaming red puddle

As a tear drops from her eye

She cries, but her cries are oh so subtle

Her crystal blue eyes so sunken

Reflection of her fright,

She feels like she has lost

Has lost the battle, the fight

On her shoulder sits a pure white dove

That whispers reassuringly, "it'll be ok, just wait"

But on her other stomps an angry black bird

And screeches to the dove, "no she won't! It's a little too late"

Overwhelmed in terror

"Save me!!" She pleads

When they ask her of what

She says "save me from me"
