9. Blank Park Zoo

It certainly isn’t the biggest or best zoo, but just like many of the area’s attractions, its small city charm and atmosphere is sure to please. On Thursday nights throughout the warm seasons, the zoo features “Zoo Brew” where they bring in local brands and showcase different types of beer and drinks (21+). If you want to take a day trip and experience a larger zoo, it’s a short 2-hour drive along I-80 to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, which consistently ranks among the country’s best.

8. Adventureland

Head over to Adventureland, which sits just east of the city and includes an amusement park with more than 100 rides, shows and attractions, and a brand new water park with the state’s longest lazy river. If you’re a roller coaster buff or love thrill rides, this park probably isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for a fun day with family or friends with almost no lines for rides and small thrills than this is a great place to spend a day.
