There are many opportunities to serve the greater Des Moines community, many through the school. At any given time, Student Services has several events that they are recruiting volunteers for. You can volunteer for these events by signing up on Pulse (Home > Community > Event Sign Up > Student Services). You will usually receive an email about new volunteer opportunities or check on the Pulse home page for recent news. There are also a ton of opportunities through DMU clubs. Most clubs have occasional service opportunities, while others are entirely focused on service events. If you are particularly interested in volunteering, consider joining SNPMA, the Community Ambassadors Program, or Homeless Camp Outreach. Once you have completed Clinical Medicine, you can also volunteer and see patients at the free clinic at Corinthian Baptist Church on Saturday mornings.
