"COMPTON KNEW IT WAS RISKY TO TEACH HER EMPLOYEES HOW SHE WAS RUNNING THE BUSINESS, BUT SHE REALIZED HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS THAT THEY UNDERSTOOD MARGINS AND HOW MUCH EXPENSE NEEDED TO BE FACTORED IN FOR EACH DOLLAR OF REVENUE." Having been in such a strong position prior to the pandemic, Compton was able to quickly pivot the company strategy to focus on telehealth. She says because of this, the business has not been impacted to a huge degree, despite the industry itself struggling over the last few months. Referrals and client leads have been maintained, dropping only in the first few days following office closures. However, Compton knows it will cost more to physically reopen than it will to continue pursuing a telehealthfocused strategy. There was much client resistance to telehealth prior to COVID-19, but in order to keep the business afloat, Compton knew she needed to sway patients. Together with her team, she devised a strategy that would make Mindsight the leading provider of online counseling services in Kentucky. In the last two months, the company has gone from off-the-map to sixth in search engine results for online counseling and first among direct competitors, with web traffic continuing to rise. Facebook followers have risen from 1,200 to over 4,000 in the same time. Compton continues to keep an open mind, using the facility to experiment with new strategies and techniques for the interim and beyond. VISIT MINDSIGHTBEHAVIORAL.COM MikeMichalowicz.com • 7
