Riis born may 3 1849 . Riis was a Danish American social reformer and mostly known as m- uckraking journalist. Ribbs wrote a book called How the other half lives.

Munkraking is a reformation of hard minded journalists who wrote largely for popular magazines,

and later continued a tradition of investigative journalism

reporting, and emerged in the United States after 1900 and continued to be influential until World War I rook place. It became popular in 1906, when president Theodore Roosevelt mentioned in his speech.
