Reasons Why Electronic Cigarettes Are Safer than Tobacco I | Page 3
In the case of e-cigs, you do not “smoke” them, you
actually “vape” them. Why? Well, every time you
puff into it, you suck in water vapor, not smoke.
Evaporated water does not in any way harm the
lungs. It's like inhaling steam every time you suffer
from nasal congestion.
Chemicals
The tobacco, cigarette filter and everything that
comes with it is rich in chemicals which can
adversely affect your health. There are over 4000
chemicals found in cigarettes and 69 of which can
cause cancer, particularly lung cancer. Here are
some notable examples:
› Arsenic – a poisonous chemical used in rat
poison.
› Ammonia – a household chemical cleaner that has
strong fumes and could make anyone exposed to
it faint.
› Butane – a major component in lighter fluid.
› Formaldehyde – a chemical used for embalming
corpses to prepare them for funerals.
› Lead – a poisonous metal that is commonly used
in batteries.
› Naphthalene – a chemical that is used in moth
balls.
