It seems like only yesterday that we unveiled Rea’s strategic plan, The Rea Advantage. In reality, it was three years ago and the time has now come for a refresher. This year, we will formally revise our strategy to take into account our achievements while setting new goals to help us on our journey toward success. That being said, the success of the original document cannot be overstated. Since adopting The Rea Advantage, we’ve made significant strides in each of the four cornerstones (people, clients, growth and firm), and have succeeded in our quest to move our wildly important goals forward.
EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY AT EVERY TURN LEAN SIX SIGMA SHAKES UP THE GOVERNMENT INDUSTRY
While adopting and implementing new technology can present its own set of challenges, failure to invest and commit to the adoption of new technology can result in becoming obsolete. That’s not an option for us. So we’re looking to learn more and invest in technology that will help us become more efficient while helping build better businesses and organizations. To that end, we implemented client relationship management (CRM) software and marketing automation. While this may not look like the most glamorous investment on the outside, these particular tech solutions will allow us to serve new and existing clients better by allowing us to better identify your challenges and present proactive solutions before problems arise. Moving forward, we will continue to identify ways to harness tech solutions, such as blockchain, that will allow us to provide greater value to our clients while improving our own efficiency and effectiveness. The value of Lean Six Sigma is not lost on us. For many years we have worked to develop an army of Lean Six Sigma Green Belts who are capable of teaching others the concepts of this practice. Over the last year, government entities have begun to approach us to learn how this particular practice can be used to improve their own processes and procedures and, under the leadership of Chris Liebtag (Dublin), a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Gold Practitioner, we’ve risen to the challenge. In the year ahead, we are looking to formalize this specialty to improve the effectiveness of these entities.
This is an exciting time here at Rea, one that will see an influx of technology, generational empowerment and a shift in mindset. Change can be scary, but at this stage in the game it’s necessary. Rea has provided our clients with excellent service and tailored business solutions for 81 years. During that time, we (and others in the accounting industry) could count on our business being driven by compliance services. Those days are gone. By confronting disruption head-on and overcoming technical, personnel and efficiency challenges in our own business, we are better positioned to serve you for 81 more.
