a little caring goes a long way

Rea’s 14th annual “Help Can Hunger” food drive was the firm’s most successful food drive to date. Team members collected 36,526 pounds of food for local food pantries across Ohio – 7,350 pounds more than last year. This lively contest puts office-against-office to see who can collect the most pounds of non perishable food per employee. Last year, Rea’s Cambridge office won after collecting 364 pounds of food per employee.

Rick Lash (Cleveland) will serve as president of the board of trustees for the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America until 2020. The organization, which serves Cleveland, Akron, Sandusky, Canton, Youngstown and the surrounding areas, is dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Rick, president of Rea’s Northeast Ohio Region, joined the organization and became a board member in 2015. That year, he and his wife, Monica, stepped up to chair the chapter’s signature Toast of the Town event. Since then, the event has seen substantial growth. More than 400 people attended in 2018 and helped raise $148,000 for the local chapter. Since 2015, the event has raised more than $300,000.
