disgusted by the young man’s appearance. The young man
nervously began looking around the store in hopes of finding
someone or something to make his plight less uncomfortable
for him and everyone else around him. As he searched for
help, he saw me and it was obvious that it was I, or someone
like me he was looking for.
As I looked at the young man sitting there I became disturbed
by the fact this innocent young man was sitting there with all
of his money in his lap for everyone to see. The young man
asked, “Do I have enough money to buy the two Star Wars
action figures?" As I counted out this young man's money for
him I realized it was not enough. As I broke the disappointing
news to my new friend, he became he became sad and
discouraged.
Returning his money to his wallet and putting it away so that
others could not see it, I informed my new friend that I would
pay for the two action figures for him., He could barely contain
his joy and excitement at my news.
As I paid for the young man's items, gave him the receipt, and
sent him on his ways, I felt good paying for the young man's
items. And what my new friend had no idea of knowing that I
felt good knowing I had blessed someone that day. I love
helping and blessing other with expectation of anything in
return. Helping others makes me feel good as a person to be
able to bring a smile to someone's face and uplift them in that
moment. , I realize that I may never see that young man again
but it doesn't matter. What he nor gave to me was just as
important as what I had given him; a tremendously blessed
day.
