Real Life Real Faith Wisdom for Everyday Life January Issue | Page 10

An Interview with J. Moss Because my theme for January is a day of service, I would like to make that the nucleus of this interview. What is your responsibility as not only an entertainer but as a man of God to be the example for serving others? My responsibility as not only as an entertainer but as a man of God in terms of how I am to be an example for scripture where it speaks about those of us that have been blessed with gifts. we are to use these gifts to serve one to another. To be good stewards of God’s varied grace. What that says to me is that if God was gracious enough to instill in us these gifts then we should use them for good. We should use them to change lives. We should use them for our brothers, for our sisters to help penetrate their hearts so that they can too walk in the graciousness if you will, of God. And so being a pastor, being a gospel artist, being a gospel producer, I want to be a good steward of this gift. To make sure that when God sees me using it, when He looks beyond the four walls of heaven and He sees me using these gifts I want Him to smile and stick His chest out and say “yes, he is somebody that I can trust with these gifts. so I am going to give him and give him, and implant in towards the kingdom because I know as we advance the kingdom if you will, the more and more that we compel people and open their eyes into the knowledge of Christ the better place the world will be and so I just want to do my part not only in my earthly role but in the spiritual realm I want to be the best servant I can so that God can know that I appreciate these gifts on a daily basis and I am going to use them for the will that He has assigned to me. Do you believe that everyone has the power to serve no matter what they do or do not have and if so, why?I personally feel like everyone has the ability to serve and that it’s not really based on what you have or do not have. It’s about what comes out of the heart. The bible speaks about many things on the subject and it’s not so much about what goes inside of a man but what comes out. And that shows what’s actually in him and what’s in you controls your heart, your mind, your actions and all of that. That’s why it is so important what we give out. And if you exude a servant’s mentality that shows so much humility. Especially for those of us who are in the gospel realm speaking, preaching and singing and praising and worshiping. What comes out of us has to be of the servant’s mentality just in terms of “God what you have placed in me I now want to let it come out in in a way that is going to serve somebody
