In observance of our national day of love, Valentine’s Day, people around the world effortlessly try to find ways to say,“I love you” and for many, the word love will remain a relative term. When we take the time to examine love and all of its extensional components, we will discover that love is etched into the fiber of beings and is a universal language that we all speak. Love is a universal language that transcends all barriers… Where there is discrimination, love erodes the lines of separation. Where there is hate, love softens, the hardest of hearts. Where there are lies, love speaks the truth. Love is a universal language that can be felt, seen, and heard.

Love is the first unspoken language that can be felt.Because love can be felt, there is no limit to its experience. Love has physical and psychological effects that can be felt throughout the body, mind, and spirit. The feeling of love causes us to have an increased heart rate which raises our blood pressure and leads to many other physical symptoms. This is why when someone enters the room that we are fond of, we become flustered and nervous. There is also an increase in cognitive function and is why we are able to remember every loving memory we have of a particular person. A boost in energy, mood enhancement and the overall sense of wellbeing are some additional physical side-effects of love. As feelings of love sweep throughout our body, adrenaline, serotonin, and dopamine act as psychological communicators to quicken the responses of the body and create our bliss love state. The psychological effects on the body, heighten the physical experience of love. Many describe “being in love” as a state of euphoria and utter bliss.

When we are in environments that are surrounded in love, we reap the benefits of feelingan increased ability to focus on the task at hand and are not easily distracted because our love gives us purpose. Heightened cognitive function, so our decision making skills are precise and sharp, are enhanced by feelings of love. Our moods are balanced by love, so we handle stressful situations with ease. In relationships love is the feeling gauge, we use to decipher if a relationship is good for us. Love is a universal language that can be felt in every area of our lives.

Love can be seen in the unity of the family. When we were growing up everyone desired to be part of the Cosby family. The Cosby family, because of their unity, mirrored for many the symbol of family love. Each person in our family has a significant role to play. The role that each member plays serves to connect our heart strings. This heart connection, causes us to support each other unconditionally. As a father tirelessly provides financial support and words of wisdom without second thought, his love is seen by his family.

Love IS a Universal Language
