MOF : While we touch on equal opportunities , what are your thoughts about the overall direction the country is going and division that continues to grow ?
Carl : I trust God and I stay authentic . Division has always been and always will be . I am not glossing over the reality of what you ' re asking ..... I just think the answer lies in the mirror , how WE deal with others and how we can touch and affect those within our sphere of influence .
MOF : In your opinion , how can we as a country work on this growing concern ?
Carl : Give liberty of thought to others as we expect it to be given to us . So many are judging others based on ideology , politics and casting aspersions on others with whom we disagree instead of respecting differing points of view and loving people as they are . There ' s a lot of righteous indignation going on . We need to look in the mirror and learn to walk in love ; even when we don ' t agree . One person at a time ....
MOF : Outside of your work as an actor , producer , and director what else can we find you doing ? Any hobbies ?
Carl : Family . Travel . Music . Sports ..... church activities ...... I want to take up golf too !!!
MOF : Are there any projects that you are currently working on that you would like to share ?
Carl : I just completed an episode of a show on Amazon called " The Last Tycoon " with Kelsey Grammar .... I have a film based on Carl Weber ' s book , " The Choir Director " coming out soon and
I ' m writing my solo show , " Notes From A Twice Married Brother "...... there are also two short films I ' m acting in coming up and I ' m expecting more television as well .
MOF : What advice would you give anyone that is striving to be an actor ? A producer ? A director ?
Carl : Find mentors ..... study .... if you ' re an actor ? Theater where you are ..... find a great class ..... and write your own material too .
MOF : Of course you know the title of the magazine is Men of Faith Magazine . With all the challenges that men face , especially men of color , what words of advice can you give any man that may be going through something in their life right now ?
Carl : Stay authentic . Be honest . Be accountable . Always keep an open heart . Keep your word . Be strong for your family and for yourself ...
