GET TO KNOW THE MAN BEHIND MERIDIAN REALTY
Who : Antonie Goosen , Principal and Founder of Meridian Realty
Early years : I was born in Odendaalsrus , a small mining town in the Free State . We moved to the even smaller town of Riversdale when I was 5 where I went to school and matriculated . I attended the University of Stellenbosch , where I graduated with a BCom degree in Business Management .
Free time : I absolutely love travelling and spending time together as a family enjoying nature and the outdoors . I am an avid amateur wildlife photographer and have also recently taken up flying drones as a recreational hobby .
Food for thought : I am fascinated by the books of Yuval Noah Harari , and can highly recommend Sapiens , Homo Deus and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century . I enjoy watching the Tom Ferry Show , and Ted Talks that interest me . On the entertainment front , my son recently introduced me to the Marvel Universe and must admit that I ' m enjoying the movies tremendously .
Entrepreneur advice : There are no shortcuts to success . Building a business is similar to building a house . It ' s better to take your time building on solid foundations rather than building fast when the foundations are not properly in place . You also want to surround yourself with the best team and remember that if you look after your people , they will look after you .
Life Motto : The saying that “ Love what you do , and you won ’ t work a day in your life ” is true . Living out your passion is all important , and I am fortunate to have found mine at a young age .
