What makes a city attractive to investors ?
In simple terms , investors invest in deals to make money , therefore are attracted to a city if there are opportunities to make money . They will assess the attractiveness of a city through existing economic opportunities . Also what will draw an investor to a city , is the political stability in governance by looking at policies like their Spatial Development Framework , the Municipal Planning Bylaws and Rates Policy . The are some other characteristics will consider such as :
• City vision
• Quality of place-making and lifestyle- liveability
• Growth rate of businesses and jobs
• Demand of property
• The cost of building and development levies
• The amount and type of vacant land available to build .
• Town Planning systems , and other infrastructure regulations
• Land use controls
Conclusion
There is a direct link between politics and property and that service delivery has a direct impact on the state of the residential property market . Whether we agree or not , when political trouble bubbles , buyers withdraw , the demand for property declineswhich may negatively influence property prices . However , such factors are not necessarily of a long term concern , as they will come and go depending who ’ s on the drive in the political space of that area .
