for medium and high-density developments , and existing contracts being honoured . Other than that , the housing subsidy programme has been deemed financially unsustainable . Instead , the focus will be on handing over serviced sites where people can build their own homes .
Conclusion As stated above , the primary aim of the subsided housing program known as RDP , was introduced to eradicate informal settlements that are usually found in disadvantaged areas and built houses for previously disadvantaged communities . With all being said , I would advise people that if you are looking into buying an RDP house , ensure that the property is not subject to title deed restrictive conditions once the 8 year period has expired .

In real estate , residence / settlement restrictions are commonly spoken about when sectional titles & body corporates are in question . Well , in normal township dwellings settlement restrictions do exist but in the form of Tittle Deed Restrictive Conditions .
