A Make a Goal to Get a Mentor

Getting a mentor should be your personal New Year ’ s resolution this year , it was on my list several years ago and let me tell you keeping this resolution has helped me build wealth .
When I first started in real estate investment , I was learning everything that I could from reading blogs , watching interviews , skimming books you name it . But the more I learned , the more questions I had . I needed someone with real life experience to guide me through the process . Then I found my mentor . He had years of experience in the real estate investment industry , had closed dozens of deals and knew exactly how to lead me to success . Getting a mentor changed the trajectory of my entire real estate investment career .
However , the process of getting a mentor who is a good fit for you and your investment Journey can be daunting especially if you are not Networking Strategically .
Network strategically Networking is always important . Some people in the real estate industry will tell you to make a certain number of new connections in a day or in a week . However , I find it more helpful to choose a higher quality of connections over a higher quantity of connections . Yes , you should connect with as many people in the industry as you can .
I made the mistake of connecting with as many people as I could and as soon as I heard an interview of an entrepreneur or Radio or TV , I found them on LinkedIn and asked them to be my mentor . 50 messages later no one has responded and accepted my proposal .
I started to be more strategic and boiled it down to the industry I wanted to be in and passionate about and went online everywhere looking for possible people who can mentor me on my Journey . I sent out enough emails letting them on my Journey , the investment I already made in myself and now only looking for a mentor who is able to help me get ahead in the industry by passing on their years of industry knowledge gained from real-life experience and that is how I ended up landing Neale Petersen .
So Always try and contact people who inspire you and you will never know what happens and also mentorship is great , but you rather come prepared to learn and take action by getting yourself educated about the industry with as much information as you can so you can achieve your goals faster by taking guided action .
