With South Africa’ s unstable economic conditions, it’ s no wonder many people are opting to offshore their capital in more stable countries, such as the UK. In this article we will discuss some strategies on how to offshore your capital into UK property. Let’ s start off by looking at what your strategy is and which type of property would suit you best.

Types of properties to buy The UK offers a wide range of property investment products and you need to determine which one is best suited to your needs. You need to ask yourself the following questions:

1What is your strategy? Capital flips, buy-tolets, house of multiple occupation, commercial developments etc.

2What area do you want to invest in? Certain areas are well-suited to certain types of properties, for example a town with a large

university would be a great place to invest in a house of multiple occupation for students.

3What is your capital? The availability of your capital will determine the areas and types of properties that you can afford.

Personally, we prefer to invest in what the average person can afford to rent and buy, which in most cases are terraced houses around the town centres. These types of properties have high rental demands and can be rented quickly.
