MAURITIUS
Investor’s guide to
Mauritius
Why it’s more than just beautiful beaches
W
ith turquoise lagoons and white sandy beaches,
Mauritius has been admired for its beautiful scen-
ery. But the attractions do not stop there. This small
is-land state, halfway between Africa and Asia, has built a
reputation as a reliable investment platform.
The number of South Africans leaving the country on a
permanent basis has increased rapidly and many are opting for
the island life in Mauritius. Not on-ly for its beauty, but certainly
for greater financial and tax security.
Mauritius has one of the highest growth rates in sub-
Saharan countries. With-in three decades Mauritius has shifted
from an economy dominated by sugar cane to a diversified and
sophisticated service economy.
With modern social and educational infrastructure and
a dynamic economy, Mauritius is emerging as a favourable
offshore investment opportunity for many South Africans.
