Construction giant Murray & Roberts (JSE:
MUR), which helped building South Africa’s
2010 FIFA World Cup stadium projects, is
exiting infrastructure and building business
markets. The surprise announcement was
made end of August as the 114-year-old
company released its interim results for the
six months to December 31.
Shopping centre specialist, Hyprop Investments (JSE:HYP) posted double-digit distribution growth for the year to June on the
back of consumer spending that supported
its property portfolio in the retail sector.
Hyprop CEO Pieter Prinsloo attributed the
results to various factors that had contributed to the growth in distributable earnings.
