Ensure that your home builder is registered with the NHBRC.
Ensure that your home builder enrols your home with the NHBRC.
When you enrol your home the NHBRC will:
Conduct a minimum of four (4) inspections on your home;
and
Deal with complaints of non-compliance during construction.
Your enrolled home will be covered for five (5) years by the
NHBRC warranty scheme on major structure defects, from the
day of occupation.

with the responsibility to provide protection in terms of the Housing Consumer
Protection Measures Act, 1998 (Act No 95 of 1998). It is mandated to provide
protection for housing consumers and to regulate the home building industry.
