this area and intends to keep the island in its natural and
undeveloped state.
Gibson’s real estate choices have consistently reflected
his love for the earthy and rustic with a strong romantic
vibe set against the backdrop of lush greenery. Purchasing
a mansion in Malibu, California in 2008 – Gibson aimed to
highlight the properties ‘old world’ characteristics. This
extravagant mansion located in a private estate is now on
the market and priced at $14.495 million.
Gibson’s estate is accessed through a long-gated drive
ending at a large motor court. The 6 578 square-foot
house is entered via the two-story foyer that opens into an
expansive room with high vaulted-beamed ceilings, stone-
arched doorways and large chandeliers. The mansion also
features dark-wood floors, walls of transomed French doors
which expose cayon and oceans views. If that isn’t enough,
a grand stone Inglenook-style fireplace is available for the
winter months. There is ample space in the mansion as
it is equipped with five bedrooms and bathrooms. Other
features include a large
French country kitchen
with bespoke cabinetry,
marble countertops, island
for workspace or dinning,

room. The outside terraces
provide
breathtaking
oceans views, with one

pergola for alfresco dining.
With space for three cars,
this mansion is truly one for
the ‘rich and famous’.
A two-bedroom guest
house is located above
from the garage. Preferring a lush landscape, Gibson added
additional plant materials native to Southern California.
There are two swimming pools and the 5.5-acre property
includes membership to the La Costa Beach Club.
