The program is showcased on local television channels, eNCA and e.tv. The Mentorship Challenge, founded by Redefine Properties aims to inspire and educate locals. Through the challenge, ordinary South Africans are able to connect with leaders in a range of industries from architecture to fashion. Mentee’s are able to engage with their mentor via an interactive online platform. Mentors provide valuable insight and wisdom in the industry, equiping entrepreneurs with key tools. Top business leaders in the country are able to provide crucial aid to local business trailblazers. Schwarzenegger arrived in South Africa for the annual Arnold Classic Africa, which takes place in Johannesburg every May. The event is a large health and fitness expo, featuring professional bodybuilding, strength, combat sports and more. Wainer comments on Schwarzenegger’s achievements. “Born to humble beginnings, he became a champion body-builder winning Mr. Universe five times and then reinvented himself to become an A-list movie star, moving then into politics to be the Governor of one of the richest states in the US, California, twice. The state’s economy rivals the United Kingdom’s and if it were a country, it would be ranked 5th in the biggest economies,” he said. He adds, “Arnold is a legend, he is an epitome of what one can achieve with some help. It is a matter of simply asking for it.” Schwarzenegger has been vocal about the aid that he received to get him where he is today, in the foreward for Tim Ferris’ book Tools of Titan he wrote, “I am not a self-made man. I got a lot of help.” “Like everyone, to get to where I am, I stood on the shoulders of giants. The Mentorship Challenge is now in its second season and expects a high volume of applications from both mentors and mentee’s.
