Never Discount Hard Work as a Key Success Factor
T
oday we really don’t
value the importance
of hard work enough
to be able to advance
forward to the next level in
life and business. A study
from the Spectrum Group,
an international wealth
research firm, shows that
luck, hard work, education
and risk taking played the
biggest role in achieving success. Those worth $5
billion or more cited hard work as the #1 key wealth
creation factor. This was followed by: education, smart
investing, frugality and taking risks.
Just last month I was privileged enough to interview
one of South Africa’s most successful business and
property tycoons, Dr. Christo Wiese, who according
to Forbes latest stats is the 214th wealthiest individual
in the world, with an estimated net worth of $7, 2
billion. This makes our proudly South African Dr.
Wiese wealthier than more popular international
billionaires such as UK entrepreneur Richard Branson
who is the world’s #286th wealthiest with $5, 2 billion

Dr. Wiese says there are no secrets or magic
blueprints to success, only hard work. He says the way
to achieve one’s goals should be open to everybody to
make it easier to achieve. The five guiding principles,
which he instituted in his first business many years
ago to help them to achieve success, are: faith, positive
thinking, enthusiasm, compassion and hard work. Go

Hard work is defined as doing something with a
great deal of effort and commitment for someone
who is diligent in laboring into doing or completing
tasks. Hard work clearly does have a significant role
in a winning life. My experience is working hard on
the right thing with commitment and passion will
guarantee a successful life.
Angelique de Rauville, CEO of Texton Property
Fund, is our Master Investor and cover star for this
edition. 2105 marked a period of immense change in
strategy and direction for Texton- with a strong shift
in ideals and values. Our Master Investor takes us
