18 Years of REI: From start-up Magazine to Investor Engine
Since 2007, Real Estate Investor( REI) has helped South Africans turn property knowledge into action. We launched as a bi-monthly print guide, sold out early editions at newsstands, built a national events platform, went digital before it was fashionable, and kept scaling on web, TV, webinars, newsletters, data, and we won awards, through every market cycle.
Milestones that mattered
2007- 2011: Launch, first resource guides, national roadshows, monthly print, digital add-on, award-winning journalism recognised.
2012- 2016: REI TV goes live; global interviews( Trump, Kiyosaki, Kerzner, Wiese) investor tours; conferences across SA; multiple SAPOA award winners
2017- 2019: Millions of video views, record conference audiences, PropTech summits, heavyweight cover stories.
2020- 2021: Fast pivot to fully digital; weekly webinars with 1,000 + audiences; metaverse events; new website.
2022- 2025: 150th and 175th editions; ABC-audited highs; News Hub expansion; Reside / REI Awards most successful in packed house in Sandton.
