On the 9th of April , Spain ’ s Minister for Housing , Isabel Rodríguez , announced that they were taking the first steps to eliminate the Golden Visa .
This visa was a popular choice for non-EU residents who wanted to gain residency in Spain , by making an investment of € 500,000 or more , in a property or business . There are fears that scrapping the Golden Visa will put off potential buyers from outside of the EU from investing in property in Spain .
