1 . WHERE DID YOUR JOURNEY TO SUCCESS START ? WHAT WERE KEY MILESTONES OR CHALLENGES YOU FACED ALONG THE WAY ? I started off as a Software Developer and progressed in my career to become President of an International Software Company . In 2013 I returned to South Africa and started providing funding and business mentorship to business owners , including property developers . I realised that many of them were unable to manage their businesses or projects effectively . Through this I created standard operating procedures and structures for the developers to make a success of their projects .
I thought Covid Lockdowns would have been to be a lot more difficult than it was , but due to proper business management BTIG was stronger than ever before after lockdowns were lifted . This was despite our biggest project at the time having been put on hold for over a year .
The key to my success is my family who support me in everything I do , and to help others succeed .
2 . WHAT UNIQUE STRATEGIES OR APPROACHES HAVE YOU IMPLEMENTED TO DIFFERENTIATE FROM YOUR COMPETITORS ? Creating a product which is superior to that of our competition , which generates a higher return on investment . Every investor wants a great quality product , a great return on investment and excellent after sales service .
3 . CAN YOU SHARE A SPECIFIC PROJECT OR INITIATIVE YOU CONSIDER A TURNING POINT IN YOUR CAREER ? WHAT LESSONS DID YOU LEARN FROM IT ? The Paramount Houghton is certainly our most iconic project thus far . I believe the biggest turning point in my career was transitioning from Corporate Executive into a start-up business owner . We are now on a drive to lead the industry into using technology to drive innovation in this very brick and mortar space .
