Proud achievements and future aspirations Among his proudest accomplishments is the conceptualisation and eventual development of Wits Junction , a 1,200-bed student accommodation project for Wits University . This project was a testament to his ability to not only be innovative in responding to client needs but also to secure long term financing that met the needs of both the university and developers of the project .
He is particularly proud .
Another milestone was as founding managing director of an infrastructure and public private partnership ( PPP ) focused company that eventually went on to develop the R1,6 billion Statistics South Africa Head Office in Salvakop , Pretoria and provided engineering , procurement and construction ( EPC ) services on the 50MW Bokpoort Concentrated Solar Power plant , a pioneering and award winning renewable energy project in South Africa . This experience not only expanded his expertise in the delivery of large infrastructure projects but also reinforced his commitmentto sustainable development .
Another significant milestone in his career was when he was at the helm as the first CEO for SENER Engenieria Y Sistemas Southern Africa , a global engineering and technology group specialising in power oil and gas , infrastructure , marine and aerospace that originated in Bilbao , Spain in 1956 . Looking ahead , Siyabonga is excited about the potential of Pace Property Group to deliver quality assets that provide sustainable returns . His vision includes partnering with investors to create property and infrastructure that address the economic and housing challenges faced by many South Africans .
