DEVONBOSCH
Greener from the Ground Up
Sustainability at Devonbosch is more than aesthetic greenery. It’ s deeply material quite literally, in the very bricks used to build. These bricks come from Cabrico, a family-run factory operating nearby since 1992. Made from local Bottelary clay, the bricks travel short distances, cutting down on carbon emissions associated with transport and supporting the regional economy.
But the significance is cultural as well. Using locally sourced materials weaves a thread of heritage through the development. It’ s a quiet tribute to the people and processes that shaped the region long before this new chapter began.
Moreover, this approach echoes the UN’ s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in promoting responsible resource use and reducing environmental impact. Devonbosch’ s story isn’ t just one of building it’ s one of healing and stewardship.
