Auctions are arguably the fastest and most transparent transactional platform for the liquidation of high value fixed assets , which is why financial institutions , REITs , listed companies and property managers all utilise this channel to reshape their portfolios . For corporates venturing into the market , though , choosing the right auction partner can be the difference between a costly mistake and a healthy profit for shareholders . South Africa has plenty of “ specialist ” auctioneers across every sector . If your first foray into auctions is in the kitchen appliance value band a mistake is affordable , but in a high value industry such as real estate , getting the partnership right first time , is a must .
