When Horne took the reins as Group CEO in 2010 , Broll was already wellestablished within South Africa , but under his leadership , the company began its rapid expansion across the African continent .
With Broll ’ s footprint growing , Horne focused on expanding the company ’ s service offerings and regional presence . By 2025 , Broll had a presence in 13 African countries , from South Africa to Kenya , Nigeria , Ghana , and beyond . This expansion marked a crucial turning point , not just for Broll but for the broader real estate industry in Africa , which had largely been underdeveloped and fragmented .
Under Horne ’ s leadership , Broll became one of the first African companies to offer integrated real estate services on such a large scale , specialising in property management , occupier services , facilities management , among others .
A testament to Broll ’ s regional growth is its training academy , which Horne established in 2004 . This initiative aimed to address the skills gap in the African real estate sector by providing top-tier training to industry professionals . Since its launch , the Broll Academy has trained thousands of individuals across the continent , contributing to the development of local talent and raising the bar for professional standards within the industry .
