During his high school years , Walker threw a memorable party that famously ended in his parents ’ house being wrecked . This event marked a turning point , leading him to pursue sound engineering — a passion he nurtured for a decade . He worked as a DJ and sound engineer , contributing to 94.7 radio station , building sound studios for SABC , and mic ’ ing up bands at Roxy ’ s club in Johannesburg .
In 2002 , Walker ’ s entry into property investment began with a two-bedroom holiday let on the South Coast of Durban . This property tripled in value by 2005 , yielding substantial profits and igniting his passion for real estate . The pivotal moment in Walker ’ s property career came in 2005 when he moved to London with his wife , Simone . On a Tube ride , they saw an advert for a Robert Kiyosaki event , which inspired them to dive into property education .
They sought mentorship from Mathew Sneddon and began building a network across the UK . Their focus on Grimsby , a promising investment area , led them to engage in buy-to-lets , multi-lets , flipping , and lease options . They settled in Barrow on Humber , where they built a profitable portfolio and established Letsand , a UK letting agency still operational today , assisting international investors with property sourcing , refurbishments , and management .
