VOL . 1 ISSUE 1 editors note the reader ’ s rock - the beginning
I acquired a love for stories at an early age . In fact , my love of reading came long before my desire and need to write .
Every year , our local library would have a summer reading program , and my goal would be to read the most books of anyone in our town . I think I came close a few times .
For me , reading provided the perfect escape to lands far away and characters that took the place of the real friendships I longed for .
There was a place I called my Reader ’ s Rock , a real naturally formed rock where I could perch myself and read for hours . I actually had many special spots that fostered the transformation from reality to fantasy that helped me grow .
You probably remember a phrase from not too long ago and a book that was written to accompany it ...” Everything I ever needed to know I learned in Kindergarten .” Well , everything I ever needed to know I learned by reading or at least by surrendering myself to the creative thought that reading taught me .
This new digital magazine is going to be so much fun . If you ’ re a booklover , you ’ re exactly who it ’ s been designed for .
It is a purposeful endeavor to connect readers who love to read with the authors who pen their next favorite tales .
I hope you enjoy this visit to Reader ’ s Rock , and that you ’ ll look forward to each month ’ s edition .
