7. Mockinjay, Part 2 – I don't think I need to say much more about this. (11/20/15 US release) 8. The Secret Scripture – does anybody else think this looks fantastic? The premise of the story right up my alley and I've already requested the book by Sebastian Barry. The film will star Rooney Mara, Vanessa Redgrave, Eric Bana and Jeremy Irons. (no release date yet) 9. Frankenstein – It's been done before but I doubt it's been done like this and I cannot wait to see the film starring Daniel Radcliffe as Igor and James McAvoy as Victor Frankenstein. For me, the story has always been more about Doctor Frankenstein than his monster…but maybe that's just me. (10/2/15 US release) 10. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. If you are not excited about this film then we simply cannot be friends. Seth GrahameSmith's alterations of Jane Austen's classic novel were fantastic in my opinion and I am VERY eager to see what Lily James does with this version of Elizabeth Bennett. (no release date yet) Violet Patterson Author of the Bestselling Emerald Seer Series an d the new must read- Immortal Machinations.... Finally, I'd like to do a brief follow up on last month's article regarding Tolkien, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. NOTE: There are some pseudo-spoilers in this paragraph! The kids and I went to see The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies on opening day – they were dressed as Bilbo and Thorin, of course. WE LOVED IT. As disappointed as we were with Desolation of Smaug, the kids and I could not have been more pleased with Battle of Five Armies. Though there were loads of departures from the book it did not seem to matter to any of us. The battles were intense, actors phenomenal and costumes just stunning. Cate Blanchett rocked her role as Galadriel in a showdown with the Necromancer (aka Sauron) voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch (who also voiced Smaug). The added bits actually helped connect The Hobbit to Lord of the Rings for people who have NOT read the books (least of all a heartbroken Thranduil sending his son, Legolas, to find the Dunedain known as Strider to aide him and learn his true name). Violet Patterson, author of the Kindle Bestselling Emerald Seer Series and Immortal Machinations: Arc of Transformation is an avid movie fan with appreciation for all genres. She and her children eagerly await the releases of The Avengers 2 and the new Jurassic World. Ms. Patterson splits her time between her day job, writing, running her business Kharmic Chaos, and most importantly, being Mom to two amazing children.
