tests but to memorize the
materials.
My years of military training in
the Intelligence field required
me to be a human sponge as
well. For my field positions, I
needed to study stacks of
books and hundreds of pages
of analysis each time I moved
to a new position and put all
that information to use as
quickly and efficiently as
possible. I became very
adept at not only learning
new material fast but
becoming an expert on what I
things?
Robert: I’ve always been
highly organized and
schedule oriented, even in
my early school days. My
years in the military
absolutely helped hone those
organizational and project
skills to a fine edge.
In school, I was one of those
freaky kids who soaked up
everything I read, but I had to
work at it too. I was good at
taking notes and using my
notes to not only cram for
studied. All those skills have
direct application to my
nonfiction writing where I
must research new products
and technologies, master
them at an expert level, and
then teach readers to use
those technologies.
What is your experience
with independent
publishing?
