What was the best part of writing Bulletproof? CONNECT WITH REGAN Twitter @ReganBlack Facebook Regan Black, Author For me the best part of writing any book is the wonderful unexpected surprises along the way. I'm the kind of author they call a 'pantser' which means I don't do a lot of plotting before I start a project. I've tried outlines and such, but it just kills the process for me. I absolutely love those 'aha' or 'wow' moments when a new connection, emotional twist, or plot ripple shows up as I'm writing. In Bulletproof, there is a scene where the intrepid heroine, a reporter, is trying to get her bodyguard, the strong silent-type hero, to talk about the shocking number of scars on his body. He tells her a story, in fairy tale form, and she isn't sure which parts are true and which are fiction. Writing that scene was one of those un-plotted 'wow' moments that left me breathless and I hope readers will have the same experience. Do you ever find the time to read? Every day I make time to read something more than Facebook status updates and tweets – for pleasure or business. In my opinion, reading is essential to writing. Usually I read a few chapters of a book for pleasure just before bed to help myself wind down. But I read plenty of books on personal development and business too – just not usually at bedtime. ;) Behind the scenes of Bulletproof: Available October 17, Bulletproof is a sexy, fast-paced romantic suspense with a paranormal edge. John Noble is pretty much bulletproof, thanks to an experimental program known as Unknown Identities. Bulletproof wouldn't be here without the unwavering support and nurture of my good friend and mentor, Debra Webb. A master storyteller, she was the perfect combination of a sounding board and a cheerleader whenever I needed it. On top of that, she was the editor for Bulletproof, which made the whole experience of rewriting, refining, and polishing a manuscript that much better. Readers can look forward to Double Vision, book two in the Unknown Identities series, later in October. www.reganblack.com
