I set this series in Minnesota because it's where I
grew up. Even though I live in Texas now, to me the
scent of pine and lilac will always mean home. The
city of Duluth, where When the Music Ends takes
place, is one of my favorites to visit, being full of
history and color. Minneapolis, the setting of When
the Words are Spoken and When the Heart Heals,
is my home town.
