In our category, Henry Butler of Butler’s Wine Cellar was awarded gold, Seb Cole from Boho Gelato was awarded silver and a joint bronze award was given to Amanda Powley from Terre à Terre and Michael Bremner from 64 Degrees. Huge success at charity bake-off Once again our Macmillan Mascots pushed the boat out to organise a hugely successful World’s Biggest Coffee Morning bake-off. Rather than just sweet treats, everyone was encouraged to bring in savoury treats too and what a feast appeared. Pictures flooded in from many of our nine offices throughout the morning and ignited some healthy inter-office competition. At the end of the day, with little but crumbs left, Answers to Crossword Best of British Gatwick 2015 we were delighted to discover we’d managed to raise almost £700 for the Horizon Centre, in Brighton, which is now close to completion. The centre has been designed with input from people affected by cancer and will offer all round support from a team of specialists in a calm, friendly and welcoming environment - so no one in Sussex has to face cancer alone. Macmillan in Sussex has been MWB’s chosen charity since April 2014. MWB were delighted to be headline sponsors at this charity sporting lunch held at the Hilton hotel at Gatwick Airport on November 6. The event was a huge success raising more than £12,000 for children’s charity, Rockinghorse. More than 240 guests from businesses across Sussex were entertained by guest speaker, former England rugby international, Gareth Chilcott, with stories from his career as part of a Rugby World Cup 2015 special. There were a number of fundraising initiatives held throughout the day including an auction with exclusive sporting memorabilia and a raffle. 7
