ROD STEWART - AMERICAN EXPRESS COMMUNITY STADIUM, VILLAGE
WAY, FALMER, BRIGHTON
Aah summer! Long days in the sunshine and
balmy evenings with dinner in the garden. The
season where I don’t look up at the sky and
bemoan why I didn’t go to live in San Francisco
or Paris… it’s a long story and we don’t have
time here! Okay the sun doesn’t shine every
day but at least we’ve got more hours of
daylight so get out and have some fun.

If you think he’s sexy and you love his body like my sister-in-law does, then Friday
13th June is your lucky day. 18 years since his last performance in Brighton
back in 1996, the 68-year-old “buffoon-haired mod” takes to the Amex Stadium
to perform his greatest hits as part of his tour celebrating 50 years in music:
apposite in that he’s mad as frogs about football. A documentary for BBC 4 a
few months back showed that he’s one of the good guys of the music business.
He’s clearly happy in his skin and loving life whether at home with his family or on
stage performing for his fans. Rod’s still got it… just ask my sister-in-law Sarah!
This award winning smash hit Broadway
musical comes direct from the West End.

glyndebourne.com
Until Wednesday 25th August
Glyndebourne offers a quintessentially English day out. Nestled in the heart of the Sussex Downs,
before curtain-up guests can spend a lazy afternoon enjoying Glyndebourne’s glorious lakes
and gardens, a champagne bar and a high end art exhibition (past artists include Grayson Perry
and Anish Kapoor). There are also delicious dining options from sumptuous catered picnics to
modern French cuisine, which guests enjoy during a specially extended 90 minute interval.
Glyndebourne began in 1934 after eccentric landowner John Christie fell in love with soprano
Audrey Mildmay and built her an opera house. Since then, Glyndebourne has won a reputation
for producing exceptionally creative, world-class opera.
This year, the Festival’s 1,200 seater, state-of-the-art auditorium will host six operas over
three months including Verdi’s La traviata and Mozart’s Don Giovanni. This year will also
see 30-year-old Robin Ticciati take over as Music Director; the seventh to hold the post
in Glyndebourne’s 80 years.
