Major credit cards are rarely accepted in Myanmar and cash machines are extremely
rare so visitors need to bring plenty of crisp, new US dollars, worn and torn ones
will not be accepted. The currency of Myanmar is the kyat (pronounced chat). £1 is
equivalent to 1,542 kyat

sometimes a pinch of tobacco then it’s folded and popped in
the mouth and chewed
