has to be said I read this and didn’t actually
have the nerve to try it. Remember ladies
and gentlemen I am borrowing this car!
Fuel consumption is up! From 32.5 miles
per gallon to 35.8. The new 911 is 10mm
shorter in length, like anyone would notice.
Imagine that though. There is actually
someone measuring the car!? With
extraordinary efficiency they recorded
that this 911 is 4499mm in length! Is your
garage big enough? I say garage because
if you’re investing in one of these you don’t
want to be parking this in the street.
down 1 to go by the way!), we’re going to
get one of these. I’m hoping that she’ll just
get fed up with me asking and give in…
mind you, I’ve been trying that approach
with a hot tub for the last 5 or 6 years and
unfortunately that hasn’t worked yet!
When I returned the new 911 4S, I was
asked what did I think? It’s always difficult
to describe this in one word, but I always
try..and I always fail! Several adjectives
spring to mind though – outstanding,
special, exhilarating, gratifying, and simply
amazing (sorry, that’s two I know)…and
yet none of them seem to do justice to the
experience.
In conclusion then, a robust, yet thrilling
drive, a true sports car that hasn’t lost its
appeal and just like my wife; exciting and
safe in equal measure.

I remember my Dad once owned a top of
the range Cadillac (he did live in Canada
so it wasn’t quite so unusual there). It was
his pride and joy and one evening he left it
parked at the front of the house on a quiet
road. Well the next morning he found it
half way up his front garden crumpled in
a heap like a concertina crossed with a
Bulldog! Suffice it to say it was a write off
and my Dad was devastated. It turns out
it had been hit by a drink driver who just
hadn’t seen it.
Anyway, back to the matter in hand. I
worked out the model that I was driving
was three grand shy of £100k. The drive
was exquisite, the handling sharp, yet firm
and every time I get behind the wheel of a
Porsche, I can see why Richard Hammond
loves them. Oh yes and I keep telling my
wife that when the kids leave home (1
