Cutting edge care home A new care home in Brighton, tipped to be one of the best in the UK, was officially opened towards the end of last year. Maycroft Manor Care Home on Carden Avenue was declared open by television and radio presenter Gloria Hunniford who described the home as “the cutting edge of what a care home should be”. Gloria, who spent time living in a care home for a television project last year, cut the ribbon in front of 200 of guests and gave her backing to the spectacular new care home. The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Cllr Denise Cobb, was also in attendance and stated how pleased she was that such a facility was available for the residents of Brighton and beyond. The grand opening was followed by a successful community open weekend attended by more than 500 local people. Following a champagne reception, guests were given tours of the home where state-of-the-art facilities that include countless places for socialising such as rooftop gardens and patios with garden chairs for warmer months and cosier indoor areas for the winter months.
