Re: Spring 2014 | Page 23

TIA CLARKE To keep up with the demands of our clients we have been recruiting more exceptional people. We'd like to introduce some of them here. At work, I focus entirely on family law and deal with all aspects of separation, including high-net value financial claims, settlements by consent, all aspects of private children law and injunctive relief. I went to Kingston University then on to study my legal practice course with the college of Law in London. After gaining experience and qualifying, I moved to a firm in Eastbourne before joining Mayo Wynne Baxter. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and travelling to new places. GEMMA LEIGHTON DAVID HARRISON JENNIFER CROCKER I have recently joined the HR team as a HR Assistant and have been very lucky to have a fab little team to learn from as this is my first HR Role. I am very keen to develop in HR. Before starting with Mayo Wynne Baxter I worked as a Legal Support Assistant for the RSPCA and have a small background in recruitment. As Finance Director, I lead the firm's Accounts team and am a member of the Senior Management Team, charged with delivering the firm's strategic plan. Before joining MWB, I worked in London for almost ten years, latterly as Finance Director at London Business School. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant 20 years ago while working with PwC, and have also worked in the pharmaceutical and transport industries. After studying law at Bournemouth University, I gained some practical legal experience at a personal injury firm in Somerset. I then went on to the legal practice course in Guildford before joining Mayo Wynne Baxter as a Property Assistant in December last year. When I am not working I am keen traveller, I spent two years travelling and living in Australia a few years ago and have been fortunate enough to travel a lot of America and Asia….although I still have a lot more places on my list!  I also enjoy Zumba, love spending time with my friends and family and am a big animal lover. I was attracted to MWB by its progressive attitude, ambition, and great people, and look forward to helping the firm continue to drive forward. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my young family, and in any time left over I enjoy running, rugby, hillwalking, and all things Scottish. I really enjoy running and completed the 2013 Great North Run in September raising money for charity. I’ve secured a place for the Leeds Half Marathon in May and hope to do the Great North Run again. I enjoy knitting and taught myself while I was at university, I spend a lot of free time making gifts for my family and friends as well as taking some requests from others. 21
