Dripping
The
Pan
Since becoming a wholly communityowned entity, Lewes FC’s core focus
now is to use football to create the
maximum benefit for all members of
our local community. That doesn’t just
mean literally running lots of football
courses and getting our teams as high
up their respective Leagues as possible.
It means using the club as a catalyst for
social & economic benefit throughout the
Lewes District.
As a key part of our on-going strategy, we
are now embarking on a major rejuvenation
of the Dripping Pan that has been our home
since 1885 and that has hosted sporting
events since the early 1700s.
The overall regeneration project for The
Dripping Pan is split into two phases.
Phase 1
Is to build a 3G all-weather pitch adjacent
to the Dripping Pan at the western end of
Priory School’s playing field.
Usage will be seven days a week and
also includes local junior football clubs,
schools and colleges and community
groups. Lewes FC’s teams will all train
here too. And aside from football, we
are talking to many local sports clubs to
schedule in time for other sports too. We
will organise things like daytime fitness/
yoga sessions on the pitch and bring
initiatives such as our football therapy
scheme to Lewes. And of course, we’ll
also run a weekly five-a-side League one
evening a week.
This will be a facility for ALL the
community, because that is the core
remit of Lewes Community Football C
