Our world is so busy with today’s technology, I think we all forget to recall how all these wonderful things we take for granted came into being. We have all been gifted with amazing minds, it blows me away to think that someone right now in the world has a dream of an invention that one day will change the face of humanity and forever write their names into the annals of history as a person that helped shape a better world.

I thought I’d start out this month’s issue with technology that was invented in the month of July. In the image above, here is the MIT’s Whirlwind computing system:

July 4, 1956 MIT’s Whirlwind, which had been completed five years earlier, becomes the first computer in the world to allow its users to enter commands through a keyboard. Previously, all input was accomplished through dials, switches, and/or punch cards. (Imagine having to input data into a PC like that today!)
