The design of issue 1 looks a little clunky
now but we were really pleased with
it at the time and so were our readers.
It appeared we had a success on our
hands and so we committed to doing a
further three issues.
In a ‘eureka moment’ I had the idea
of creating our own magazine, one
that would be a mix of legal related
articles, lifestyle and a touch of local
celebrity. We spent the summer of 2012
researching and testing our ideas and
on the 1st December 2012 the first issue
of Re: Magazine landed on our clients’
doormats to much acclaim. Nearly five years later we are here with
issue 20 which, with some sadness, I
have to report will be our last. Looking
back over that time there have been lots
of people that helped put together the
magazine, regular contributors, MWB
colleagues and of course the Re: Team
which over the years has consisted of
me, Amy Pulling, Liza Laws, Laurence
Elphick, Amber Ainsworth, Jade Russell
and Simon Fuller.
I had scoured my black book for
people to interview and fortunately the
international best-selling Sussex author
Peter James agreed to be our first cover
star. I had known Peter for some years
and so he didn’t require much arm
twisting. In the early issues we used to
have two interviews and another friend
of mine, Ben Hillman, also agreed to be We have interviewed some really

chefs, actors, musicians, TV presenters,
pop stars, soap stars, adventurers,
celebrity hairdressers and even the Chief
Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London!

Fortunately for our clients, the need
to use a brilliant law firm like us only
happens roughly once every seven years
and this poses a bit of a problem when
it comes to having a reason to keep in
touch. In early 2012, I was struggling
with the concept of sending clients a
newsletter as I knew that personally
I would find it unappealing if I was a
