17 FIRST-TIME FAITH COMMITTMENTS
My name is Cici and I am a mother of 2 lovely sons ; and a wife with a full-time job .
I was living a very busy life in my own way , following my own plans and directions . I always tried to balance being a good mother and living a meaningful life . I found it so hard , till one day , I responded to Jesus ' knock at my door and my life started changing .
One night my family was invited to a Christian friend ’ s house for dinner . After dinner , my Christian friend explained the gospel to me . It was the first time ever that I heard about Jesus and his life , death and resurrection for me and my sin . That night , from the bottom of my heart , I wanted to follow Him , so I gave my life to Jesus as my Saviour and King . I asked Him to come and lead my life .
After praying , I felt so relaxed and it seemed like my burdens were no longer mine . I now have God to guide me , support me and teach me . My past , present and future sins have all been forgiven . I know God hears my prayers .
The next day , my friend invited me to go to church with her , so I went to RBC . That Sunday was during Chinese New Year , the topic was being a new person . I was so touched by the words in the songs and in the Bible readings . I was compelled again during the service , to say goodbye to my old life , and embrace Jesus and the new life He offers as my King .
Since then , I have been coming to church most Sundays to learn the Bible , listen to God ’ s word , worship together and pray to God . I know God has heard my prayers and is helping me solve so many problems that , in my own power and ability , I couldn ’ t solve . With God ’ s love and power , the way is so bright . He guides me to see the lights in the tunnel . I can ’ t thank him enough !
